As we gear up for the 35th Annual Turkey Festival, we are starting to lay the foundation for an awesome year. This starts with the posting of the 2012 Vendor Registration Form, which can be found on our Contact page.

Dipity the Clown and Kobbler Jay and will be entertaining the crowds on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

The classic “Kobbler Jay” show is thoroughly entertaining for all ages. Children are spellbound by his stunts, teenagers get a kick out of his saucy wit, and adults can appreciate his humour. His comedy can be described as “off the wall”, yet appropriate to the audience.

Kobbler Jay will be performing three shows at the 2011 Turkey Festival, all on Sunday, June 19, 2011.

Once again, Karaoke Idol auditions are being held at Crabby Joe’s in Strathroy on May 25, June 1, and June 8, 2011. If you think you’ve got what it takes, come on out and show the crowd what you’ve got!

This event is proudly put on by the Strathroy-Caradoc Dog Owners Assocation:

• Entrants can drop off a photo of a child born in 2010 or 2011 to A Star is Born by Wednesday, June 15, 2011.
• Photos will be displayed in the window of A Star of Born from Thursday, June 16 to Sunday, June 19.
• Each photo will be assigned a number and the public will be asked to vote for their favourite photo by writing the number on a ballot.
• Funny shots probably have the best chance of winning! No professional photos please.
• Prizes are as follows:
  • 1st Prize – $50 gift certificate from A Star is Born
  • 2nd Prize – $30 gift certificate from A Star is Born
  • 3rd Prize – $20 gift certificate from A Star is Born

Each entrant will receive a gift and $5.00 coupon from A Star is Born for entering when they pick up their picture after the contest.

Winners will be announced on the Downtown Strathroy website the following week.

Hitting the stage on Friday, June 17 before Sarah & Jeff are The Krysta Lee Band! Krysta has been exploring the world of country music, which was introduced to her by her then newlywed husband DJ. Her songwriting is uplifting and uninhibited, and often a reflection of her life and its trials and tribulations. Unlike many artists that rely on studio mixes for their edge, Krysta is absolutely electrifying on stage.

Performing is Krysta’s greatest gift. Anyone that has witnessed her sing agrees that her ability to captivate her audience is truly amazing. She says that it is onstage that she feels completely at home. And now Krysta and her band are going to be here in good ole’ Strathroy playing for you!

The winning store will be chosen by the shoppers, and 3 lucky shoppers will be awarded a $50.00 gift certificate each to shop at a participating downtown store of their choice.

Deadline to Decorate Windows – June 10. Ballot boxes, ballots and a poster saying “Vote for our Turkeyfest Window” will be dropped off to participating stores by June 11. Merchants must deliver ballot boxes to A Star is Born or Doug and Marion’s Bike Sales by Tuesday, June 21.

Winners will be announced on MyFM on Thursday, June 23rd by Chris Soares. A BIA email will also be sent out listing winners.
